Well, hello again! Fancy seeing you back here. I, the not-so-humble Amaranth, have today taken it upon myself to delve into the topic of what should frankly be the 8th wonder of the world: cereals.
While Gouri herself toils away in the kitchen, let me introduce you to the building blocks of everyone’s favourite meal - breakfast. First off, you’ve got to have a strong foundation. Think rajgira, ragi and corn flakes, oats, or rice crispies. These are the sturdy, dependable folk you can always count on. Next up are slightly seedier characters: chia, flax, and sesame. They’re the guys you may have forgotten about but showed up to the party anyway, which is great because they’re handy to have around and add some character to the scene.
Obviously, no family is complete without a couple of nutters thrown into the mix. We’re especially partial to the almond, who gets on famously with our organic Himalayan honey and local palm jaggery. Round it off with some dry fruit like raisins or apricots, sprinkle with cinnamon and voila - a breakfast fit for royalty!
The age-old adage will always stand true; breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It literally means to “break the fast” of the previous night, and it’s the meal that will supply your body and brain with the nourishment it needs for the day to come. With the right fuel every morning, you will be more energetic, concentrate harder, stay focused, and have a healthier metabolism.
Of course, you can’t be eating just pancakes doused in syrup or sugar masquerading as cereal and expect the same benefits. Then again, that’s what we’re here for.
